Chaz
Chaz when he was very sick
I wanted to share Chaz’s story with the hope that it may help someone else’s beloved kitty. At the end of March, I took Chaz to the vet because he was barely eating and had lost weight. The first vet diagnosed him with dental disease and said he wasn’t eating because of the pain. The next day I took him to a different vet who said this cat didn’t lose this much weight just because of dental! He’s probably got Inflammatory Bowel Disease possibly caused from Lymphoma and required further testing to confirm. I did some of the tests, but he got very sick with an upper respiratory infection the next day and was so stuffed up and was sneezing blood! When cats can’t smell their food, they don’t eat! TRIPLE WHAMMY! I was so distraught as to what to do. I went back to the vet for the 4th time and came home armed with all kinds of meds and was told to force feed him with a syringe. That was a disaster because he spit it all out and choked. Chaz weighed 8.5 at the vet, and had previously weighed 10.5 to 11.0 lbs. Needless to say, I did a lot of crying and praying for God not to take him and to show me what to do!
In the middle of all of this, God sent me an angel name Pam! If it weren’t for her, I really don’t believe he would have survived!! Chaz weighed 10.5 to 11.0 lbs, but was now down to 8.5! 🙁 Pam had already suggested that I get him off of chicken immediately because she muscle tested him and found it to be the cause of his yeasty ears and gut inflammation. She suggested other protein sources and foods that would be best for him. The vet had also mentioned that it could be caused by his food, but that changing his food at this point was not going to help!! What??!!
I was at a loss as to what to do because he couldn’t breathe and therefore wouldn’t eat, even with an appetite stimulant that had worked the previous couple of days. Pam’s brilliant suggestion of purchasing a vaporizer and putting it in a small bathroom with Chaz would help him breathe better. After about 20 minutes, a lot of mucus came out and he walked out in the hall and started eating! I was so excited.!! Muscle testing also revealed that the antibiotic (Veraflox) the vet gave him the previous week wasn’t working, so we switched him to colloidal silver and a homeopathic remedy called Cinchona 30C. He started to make a huge improvement virtually overnight!
As the journey continued, Chaz was eating his new food by Weruva–Salmon, Mackerel, etc.. I was adding Proviable Probiotics for gut healing, and he was steadily gaining weight. But one day about 3 weeks ago, he stopped eating again and was having loose stools. I discussed this with Pam, my kitty Angel. She muscle tested him and found it was related to inflammation in his pancreas and that I needed to give him 1/4 tsp of Enzymes in his food. (Mercola’s Brand). She provided a few days worth to get me through and suggested switching protein sources. I switched him to Wellness Minced Turkey which he loved! However, the stench of his poop was horrendous! I assumed he was detoxing and would get better. His weight had increased to 10.5!! He’s like a little kitten again.. tons of energy, jumping around and wanting me to play with him with a wire hanger toy. He hasn’t been interested in that for at least a year!
Pam to the rescue again! I texted her about his stinky poop, and she with muscle testing discovered that the one I was feeding him has eggs/sulfur which was responsible for the smell. Yesterday I switched him to Wellness Core– Turkey/Duck. No eggs, no chicken, NO SMELL!!!! Woo hoo!
Chaz all healthy
I can’t thank Pam enough for her amazing advice and help in saving my baby’s life! I love him SO much and thank God every day for saving him and sending Pam R. my way! He’s healthy enough now that I am scheduling his dental cleaning and extractions next week.
Forever Grateful,
Pam Redmon

Thank you, Pam, for starting Purrrfectly Holistic for CATS….Your blog is smart, informative and fun. The very first PH blog I read (I believe you introduced Optimal Nutrition for Cats article) changed me 100%….WOW! I have learned so much, ie: what we are feeding our cats, looking at labels, purchasing healthy products, and helping me to make wise & healthy food choices for what my 4 cats!!!
My sweet rescue kitty, Little Cloud (a grey tabby I found at a local Exxon station) was diagnosed in May 2015 with a severe urinary tract infection and had to be hospitalized. After the vet saved Cloud I knew I would do everything I could to give all my cats the best diet possible. Natural Pawz in Houston is a great resource for me. Thank you Pam for all your great information/articles/resources/etc.

“Major” has “Gary” wrapped around his paw! In June, Major (our feral cat that lives on the back patio) lost his best friend, Magic. (She died from a tumor in her intestines.) Major and Magic had lived and cuddled together on our back porch for 8 years, so we were all so sad when we lost her…especially Major! Major never leaves our back patio and my husband, Gary, continues to feed him twice a day. Major gets allergies in the summertime, and he ends up with scabs around his neck and top of his back by his tail. About 4-5 months ago, Pam suggested we add 1/4 teaspoon of Diatomaceous Earth and 4 drops of Allergena to his food. This is the first summer we have not had to take Major to the vet for his allergies! He looks and feels so much better. During the summer every few days we would both sit on the porch to love on Major.
One day I mentioned to Gary that we needed to think about bringing Major inside for the winter since he did

not have Magic to cuddle with. He said that probably would not work well with our two inside cats and that Major might have a disease that would spread. I decided not to say anything more and let Major take the lead. … and he did just that! He would curl up in both of our laps and “knead” our legs. Then one day Gary came in and said ,”Major jumped up in my lap. “Really?” I answered. And Major began to do this ritual very day with Gary, even before mealtime. The two had definitely bonded! 😍
Then Gary came in one day and said, “If we are going to bring Major inside, he needs to go the vet to be checked.” Of course I just smiled and agreed. Major was given the green light from the vet only having to be treated for fleas. We still continue to use the DE and Allergena, and Major is the healthiest he has ever been! His fur coat actually feels like velvet. Our other two cats, Alley and Misty, have already shared paws and noses through our glass door with Major, so we are expecting a smooth transition. 😀

Traveling by car from Texas to California can be stressful, especially if you’re a feline. We’ve been doing that with our three cats for the past four years. During the early trips, there was always someone who would get upset and have some type of “accident” in the car. At Pam’s advice I decided to try Rescue Remedy. I place four drops in my hands and rub it on each of the cats, before placing them in their carriers (I also remind them how brave they are to travel so far!). Two successful trips with no accidents! It works!
