A Sneak Peak Into Great, New Cat Products!

It’s been a whirlwind week! I travelled to Las Vegas for the annual pet industry trade show, SuperZoo 2018. This is my second time to go, and it did not disappoint. My week was filled with training classes along with hours of walking the trade show floor meeting vendors, manufacturers, business owners and seeing the latest and greatest cat products on the market. When it comes to the pet industry there is no shortage of innovation, creativity or passion for pets.
Some of the highlights of the week included meeting and visiting with a few CEOs and owners of some of the brands I love, including Solid Gold, Party Animal, Iceland Pure and PetKind. I also met many of the territory reps of my cats’ favorite brands like Fussie Cat, Pure Vita, FirstMate, Sojos, Grandma Lucy’s, Canidae, Petique, Party Animal and Weruva. One of the things that truly impresses me is when owners of popular companies like these take the time to mingle with their customers and listen to what we and our pets like and don’t like. Taking the time to build relationships creates loyalty and helps to develop products that our pets love. I was able to give feedback and make suggestions, too.
Pam and Dr. Robert Silver, DVM
One of the biggest surprises I had was the opportunity to meet Dr. Robert Silver, DVM. He was interviewed in the documentary The Truth About Pet Cancer and his company, Folium Biosciences, produces hemp and CBD products for pets. They grow their own proprietary strain of hemp that is naturally high in cannabinoids and is excellent for medicinal uses without the psychoactive effects of THC. Products like these for animals are growing in popularity just as they are for human use because they are found to be safe and effective in relieving pain, reducing neurological problems, reducing anxiety, and addressing problems with diseases like osteoarthritis, cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, epilepsy, asthma, and more.

Celebrity Encounters!
I was also very fortunate to be able to visit with Jackson Galaxy again this year while hanging out with my friend Andrea from Armarkat. He truly is as genuine as he appears on TV. SuperZoo held a private concert at The House of Blues with Kenny Loggins for participants, too. He played all his most popular hits, and it was like stepping back in time with memories of movies like Top Gun and Footloose. He and his band did an outstanding job and played to a packed house.
As my Uber driver was about to drop me off at the airport the next afternoon we watched Kenny and his band members walk across the crosswalk towards the Delta departures entrance! After dropping off my luggage curbside I walked all the way back to the Delta check-in counters and found the band members in line. After introductions and thanking them for a fabulous concert Kenny was gracious enough to take a photo with me. This was truly the icing on the cake of an outstanding, memorable time at SuperZoo!
